Dealing with the Dutch

You are a professional in your work, received your credits abroad and accepted a job in the Netherlands. In your current job you need to work together with Dutch people who have traveled all over the world. They are proud to be open-minded and direct in their communication. In this course you will learn to understand the Dutch better, which in turn, will facilitate a supportive professional working relationship.

Perhaps you perceive some of the Dutch as having a fixed mindset, stubborn and blunt? What is it about this behavior that can sometimes trigger you? Is it them or you? And if you know, what are the actions you could take that would facilitate doing business more successfully? Concomitantly, where is it probably safe to stick to your own way of working?

You already know that successful integration and doing business is a two-way street. You therefore are willing to reflect on your personal mindset and behavior, as well as trying to understand the Dutch better. You would like to receive tips and tools to enrich your style of communication for working in the Netherlands.

How to be yourself and deal with the Dutch?

As a result of this module you will:

Better understand Dutch culture and why the Dutch do what they do
Learn to appreciate and benefit from the differences between cultures
Become aware of potential personal triggers in working with the Dutch plus how to deal with these triggers
Become better equipped to deal with some dominant aspects of behavior in Dutch business culture
