Leadership and influencing people are intertwined. Winning people over requires the power of persuasion. For this it is essential to develop the ability to build relationships and to connect to the way that other people communicate. In this course you will increase your influence and make a bigger difference as a professional and as a leader by who you are.

Influence without power is a relevant topic. Increasingly, we work in matrix organizations, networks and virtual teams. Hierarchy is receding to the background. More and more your personal skills are key in getting things done. You know exactly where you want to get on a technical level, but how do you convince the stakeholders, both inside as well as outside of the organization?
You would like to get a better understanding of the needs of your stakeholders. You would also like to learn how to build and maintain stronger relationships. Linking with, and connecting to the needs and styles of other people will support you in this.

How do you gain more influence without using authority?

At the end of this module you will:

Be able to map the needs of your professional relationships within the scope of your work
Be aware of (potential) areas of tension and how to influence these in a positive way
Be more aware of thought patterns and communication styles between people
Be more aware of the impact of your communication style on others
Be more capable of switching between communication styles, depending on the situation
